Terms and Conditions
If for any reason your usual teacher is unable to run the class (e.g. because of illness) then I will endeavour to add another class at half term or the end of term. If you let me know (by email or phone call) with 24 hours notice that you will not be attending this replacement class then I will refund you that week's class fee or offer an item from Sing and Sing stock of a similar value.
Booking system
Places are offered on a first come, first served basis. To secure a place in a class, please place your provisional booking online and pay the deposit / full class fee (depending when the place was booked) within seven days. You can pay online via BACs or with cash in class. I cannot guarantee your place until payment has been received. Once the place is secured I will email you to confirm your place.
All deposit payments are non refundable.
All classes will be confirmed two weeks prior to the start date via email. Please note that if a class has less than five/six, depending on venue, people attending it may be cancelled. You will be informed of this prior to the start of the course and offered an alternative class where possible or a refund.
Refunds policy
We are confident you will love Sing and Sign. However, if you feel that you are unable to continue classes after you have started term, please speak to your class teacher.
1. If you withdraw from classes at least 2 weeks before the term has started, I will refund you in full.
2. Refunds sought 2 weeks or less before term starts, or after term commences will only be considered within the first 2 weeks of term and must be in writing (letter or email). They will only be granted if the place can be filled by another family and will be subject to deduction of fees for the classes attended and a £10 administration fee.
3. We reserve the right to cancel any classes that do not have at least 5/6 participants booked onto them by the start of term.
4. Whilst we will endeavour to give as much notice as possible a class may be cancelled at any point prior to the term start date.
5. Regrettably we are unable to offer refunds where classes have to be cancelled for reasons outside of our control. e.g. severe weather conditions.
All Sing and Sign classes are strictly limited to a maximum number of families. By booking and paying, your place on the course is held for you and your baby. This is regardless of your attendance. Refunds are not available for weeks missed for any reason.
If you are unable to attend your booked class on a regular basis, please talk to me about it. It MAY be possible for you to visit a different class, or to transfer to a different class. However, please consult me before doing so. Sing and Sign has strict limits on the numbers allowed in each class.
Can I carry over money from missed classes to the next term?
Sorry, you can't do this. There is a lot of repetition from week to week as well as handouts, so if you miss a week for any reason, you'll soon be able to catch up.
Can I bring a friend and their baby to class as a trial?
Please do not bring friends along to class unannounced. It MAY be possible to accommodate a friend and their baby, if there are still spare places in the class, but I can not guarantee this
I tend not to often offer free trial classes during term time, because it may be seen as discourteous and disruptive to the parents who have committed to the full term of classes. I often run free 'taster' sessions, so there are plenty of opportunities for people to 'try before they buy'.
I do welcome other family members as visitors in classes. Grandparents, partners etc. Please ask BEFORE you bring family members with you - some of the venues are quite small and can easily become uncomfortably overcrowded if everyone decides to bring a family member with them each week!
Older siblings
If your baby's sibling is 3 years or older, you may bring him/her to class on special occasions with prior agreement. We will do our best to involve them in the class proceedings. Please note that they remain your responsibility at all times and parents must be alert to their children's behaviour and safety, especially in terms of the younger babies. Please try not to bring a toddler aged 2 years old however, as disruption to the rest of the class is likely, however well behaved they are!
If you are regularly bringing someone else's baby or are a child-minder bringing more than one child (who are not siblings) then you will have to pay for each place.
Children's behaviour in class
I hope your baby will enjoy class and be thoroughly engaged with the teacher and the other children. We encourage babies to crawl or walk about and interact; they are not required to sit still. Problems with behaviour are very rare, but of course can happen occasionally. If a baby hits, bites or throws toys the parent should remove their child from the class circle to avoid further disruption and in exceptional circumstances a refund may be offered for the remainder of term at the teacher's discretion.
Complaints procedure
I really hope that you will be delighted with your experience of Sing and Sign classes. I am absolutely committed to you finding that your class exceeds your expectations and that you enjoy your classes enough to recommend Sing and Sign to all of your friends!
However, sometimes things might go wrong and in that case, I would like to hear about it. Please do get in touch if you have a complaint or concern (or compliment!). I will always do my best to resolve any problems as quickly as possible and to everyone's satisfaction. If there is any aspect of the course/classes that you are unsure about, please don't be too shy to ask!
