  Hello.... My name is Jenette.

   I have now been teaching Sing and Sign for 11 years and absolutely love it. It makes my day when I receive a video, photo or email with a mums baby signing.

  I originally started my career in the entertainment industry performing in a number of musicals and staging shows for well known cruise liners when I met my husband and settled in Kent. I think I always had a passion for signing watching the BSL performers on the side of the stage while dancing.

  I now have two wonderful children and I believe much of their communication skills stem from Sing and Sign. 

  My daughter was extremely shy, I found the small music group and the animation of Jessie cat really helped her confidence.

  From her early ability to communicate to me through sign we beat the tantrums (well mostly) and even managed to potty train incredibly early using the 'nappy' sign. My daughter love of books began from signing all the animals. It was lovely having her read to me and made our story time very special.  When her baby brother came along the relationship was amazing and I would find them having little signing conversations, I often found my eldest bringing food to her brother as he has signed 'food'. Which still makes me laugh.

  I can't think of a more rewarding job to combine my love of music, teaching and babies. I am really looking forward to finding out which signs your babies like and which ones you like using!

• Nurseries

  Sing and Sign Nurseries

  Does your child attend a nursery?

  Sing and Sign has an excellent Nursery Affiliation Programme which includes weekly lessons and staff training on their own premises.  We will teach staff a selection of signs, tailor made to the nursery's individual requirements and design an Individual Action Plan to inspire staff and make signing fun and easy to incorporate. Following training, the nursery will receive a Certificate of Sing and Sign Affiliation together with ongoing access to our signing resources and a complimenatary package of products.
