  Hello and welcome to the Sing and Sign Winchester and Around webpage.

  I am Lianne and I am a sing and sign teacher here in your local area. 

  I cant wait to meet you and your little ones and help you to get started on your baby signing journey together.

  I look forward to sharing lots of signs and songs that will enable you and your baby to communicate before they find their voices. You will be able to talk to them about what they want to talk about and what really interests them whilst helping to reduce their frustration as verbal language starts to develop.

  We will learn baby signing the fun way! Through the joy of music! Babies love to learn through music and as they grow through the stages they can be as active and expressive as they please in a completely relaxed and fun environment.

  As a sing and sign mum myself, I can honestly say that it is the best thing I ever did with my children. I still use some of the signs even now that they are 10 and 12 years old. I can sign to them to tell them to tell them I am proud of them when they are in performances or facing challenges. I can remind them subtly with signs to use their manners when we are leaving friends houses! I can sign 'home' to my husband across a crowded room when its time to leave!! It really is the gift that keeps on giving!

  Classes are very relaxed and good fun! We keep class sizes small (around 12 per class) so you and your baby can enjoy the social aspect of class.

  Classes currently run for about 45 mins for Stages 1 & 2 and the Babes classes are slightly shorter but not a lot after all my chatting! :) 

  As a general rule, Babes clasess are from birth to 6 months, Stage 1 classes are great for babies aged from 6 months upwards and Stage 2 classes are most appropriate for babies/toddlers who have attended at least one term of stage 1 (that is not essential) and who will be around 14mths+ at the start of term (exceptions apply, please contact me if you are unsure).

  We know babies don't like to stay still so we don't expect them to. We want our parents and carers to feel relaxed whilst they learn the signs to teach their babies at home. The little ones are welcome to roam around the room if they want to. They will still be learning (you'd be surprised how much they can pick up whilst wandering!) When Jessie Cat, instruments or the prop bag appear they soon come back!

  We learn all the signs through our easy to learn action-songs. Don't worry if you can't sing ... you don't have to! 

  We do still offer the Sing and Sign @Home course at a cost of £50.00 for those who may not wish to be out and about yet or are unable to commit to live classes.
