Hi! We’re Jen & Zoë and we are excited to be running classes across the South Bucks & Thame areas, having taken over the local franchise in 2020.
As mummies to five little ones between us, we have both been on Sing and Sign journeys; in fact that’s how we met each other! We both took our eldest children to Sing and Sign from 4 months and loved being able to communicate with our little ones, as well as learning signs ourselves. Classes were great fun for all of us, not only from a social point of view but also because we enjoyed the music, learning signs and of course making new friends; we carried on for over two years! Then with the arrival of our youngest children, we’ve been signing (and singing) ever since!
We have both completed all three stages of the courses with our own children - including the @Home programmes - so have witnessed the benefits first hand. From early talkers, thanks to intensive use of signs and their accompanying words, to prolific signers themselves, we have seen how Sing and Sign can benefit each individual child in different ways and so are passionate about sharing our knowledge!
If you have any questions at all, please do get in touch; we'd love to hear from you.

What to expect and where to find us!
Much more than just a baby or toddler music class, our courses enable you to enjoy conversations with your children much earlier than speech alone allows. The skills learned together will last a lifetime but be effective immediately, helping to reduce many frustrations while their speech is still developing.
Each week our courses build on the last to provide the very best foundations for early and successful communication. Participants are supported by online content and weekly emails exploring each theme further and offering more insight into the development stages at play - we even have videos from our Speech and Language Therapist Consultant too.
Even babies and pre-verbal children have much to tell us and signing together is one way to support their development and unlock a whole new level of connection and understanding between you. Ask us anything you still need to know and we hope to help you start your signing journey together soon!
To view the dynamic timetable online, click the 'book your class' button - which does not commit you to anything until you are ready.Which stage is right for my baby?
We have 3 different "stages" of Sing and Sign which have been developed specifically for your baby's developmental stages and none of which require prior signing experience. We incorporate a range of familiar, as well as specially written songs to make learning fun - and easy - plus offer varied lesson plans, so there are always new signs and songs to learn and enjoy.
Sing and Sign Babes is a gentle early signing course for babies aged from birth to 6 months at the start of term and has a strong emphasis on parent/child communication and bonding. Each week focuses on a different theme, with each topic being considered a key building block of successful and early communication. With the help of our Consultant Speech and Language Therapist, we delve into topics such as eye contact, repetition and anticipation - what they mean and just why they are so important for your baby's development. We put each theme into practice to show how easy it is to continue it at home, whilst also having fun with music and - of course - teaching you the first signs to use with your baby.Sing and Sign Stage 1 is great fun and an ideal way to learn signing with your little one alongside enjoying musical activities together. The course is suitable for babies aged 6-16 months at the start of term and every week we have a different topic, including going out, bath time, bedtime and emotions. We learn over 100 age-appropriate and useful signs during the 10-weeks but we make it easy and fun to learn through our magic ingredient - music!
Sing and Sign Stage 2 is an active and interactive signing course for mobile babies and toddlers aged at least 14 months upwards at the start of term and they are welcome to stay with us as long as they still enjoy coming! Your toddler may well already be starting to talk but signing still has great benefits at this age and is also an introduction to a life-long skill.
We cover new and useful topics every week, including food choices, colours and speech sounds, whilst also learning simple counting songs and skills such as turn-taking and sharing. All our courses involve a strong social element too and - hopefully - a relaxed environment, as little ones are never required to sit still when they wish to roam!
Lots more info on all our courses is also available on our Instagram, Facebook and at linktr.ee/SingandSignSouthBucks too, so please do visit us there and get in touch with any queries.Mondays: Red Kite Family Centre, Thame, OX9 2DY
w3w: ///engulfing.contexts.promisesLocated in the centre of Thame, there is no parking available directly attached to the venue but there are free parking options nearby. The best options are to use the several free local car parks, as on street parking is limited and may not be any nearer!
Just a short stroll away is the Sainsbury's car park, which is free to park in for up to two hours and the entry/exit for this is on the same road as the Red Kite Family Centre.
Alternatively, take advantage of the car parks and street parking options along the main High Street, which generally allow free parking for 2 or 3 hours, depending on exact location. Again, it is a short stroll down either Nelson Street or Rooks Lane to reach the centre.
The Red Kite Family Centre is located on the corner of Rooks Lane and Southern Road (entrance faces Rooks Lane) and is very visible/signposted. The centre is accessed via either a slope and steps, or a lift, so it is easy if you are bringing a buggy. There is a sheltered buggy parking area outside and the centre often also allows buggies to be parked in the garden area, with access through the side door.Mondays: 1st Holtspur Scout Hall, Beaconsfield, HP9 1BH
w3w: ///adults.poker.economiesThe Scout Hall occupies the first floor above Holtspur Pre-School, with the entrances next door to each other (Scout Hall entrance is the double doors visible in photo on the right hand side).
If using sat nav to find the venue, we recommend you request directions to Holtspur School (or approx 3, Cherry Tree Road), as the Pre-School/Scout Hall building is just next door. There is also a board outside to highlight the Scout Hall's location when you get there.
There is plenty of free street parking available outside the venue. Please do not use the small car park as it is for use by the Pre-School only.
Please avoid bringing prams if possible, as they cannot be brought upstairs and may need to be left outside to avoid any fire exits being blocked. There is plenty of space upstairs for car seats and belongings though.Tuesdays: St James Church Hall, Downley, HP13 5NB
w3w: ///brief.fuels.aboveThe venue offers a free car park with plenty of spaces and is well signposted from the main road (Plomer Hill).
The hall itself is located behind the main church, down the path to the left hand side of the main building. It's not immediately visible from the car park but one of our cars will always be parked down the pathway, so follow it to find us!
There is plenty of space for car seats and belongings but only limited space for buggies in the hallway, though they can be left outside if needed.Thursdays: Chinnor Methodist Church, OX39 4PZ
w3w: ///dampen.instilled.marbleThe Church itself is set back from the road but visibly signposted.
There is no onsite parking but free parking is available on surrounding roads (please park considerately if busy), or at the nearby Unity Health, or Community Pavilion Centres.
Classes are held in the main church, accessed via the double doors as you arrive. There is plenty of space for belongings and car seats and buggies can generally be left in the entrance area as needed.Thursdays: Farnham Common Village Hall, SL2 3NL
w3w: ///works.hood.spotsFarnham Common Village Hall is located on Victoria Street, just a short walk from the main road and shops. There is limited off-street parking available onsite, plus free street parking too.
Classes are held in the small hall and we can accommodate car seats no problem but may not have space for multiple buggies.
We look forward to welcoming you soon!

Web: https://childbasepartnership.com/nursery/grasshoppers-aylesbury/Sing and Sign has an excellent Nursery Affiliation Programme, where we train staff onsite within their setting at a time to suit. We will teach staff a selection of signs to get started with - tailoring those chosen to the nursery's individual requirements - and design an Individual Action Plan to inspire staff and make signing fun and easy to incorporate.
Following training, the nursery will receive a Certificate of Sing and Sign Affiliation together with ongoing access to our signing resources to further build their own signing knowledge within the setting and, of course, support along the way as much, or as little, as is needed.
