  Hi! I'm Hilary and I run Sing and Sign LOS!

  I’ve spent 12 years as a Primary School Teacher, so I’ve always known and appreciated the power of communication. I started Sing & Sign with my own daughter when she was 5 months old and saw the magic of this firsthand!
  My daughter is now 17 months and doesn't just "wait" to be understood - she signs ALL the time! Watching her tell me exactly which animal she’s thinking of (her favourites are ‘cow’ and ‘duck’!) has been incredible. It took the guesswork out of parenting and replaced it with genuine conversation and less frustration. I’ve now moved to part-time teaching in school so I can share this gift with you. I can’t wait to help your little ones find their ‘voice’ before they fully find their words!

  Sing and Sign @Home Classes

  Can’t make a venue? Toddler older than 2.5 but still wanting to learn? Join the fun from your living room! Our @Home courses are perfect for busy schedules. Each 10-week curriculum is broken down into weekly easy-to-follow lessons, which you can enjoy with your little one at any time throughout the term!

  Stage 1: 6–18 months (Gold Membership)

  Stage 2: 14 months+ (Premium Membership)

   What classes are available? 

   Babes 

  For babies from newborn to around 6 months old. – A lovely gentle class for the youngest age group aiming to build the foundations for good communication. The class is relaxed, gives you lots of time face to face with your little one, plenty of cuddle time and is the perfect place to begin your baby signing journey! 

   

   Stage 1 

  Suitable for babies from 6 months to around 18 months – Covering lots of different themes relating to your babies world, we use songs, rhymes, instruments, toys and props in a fun, relaxed class. Babies love the fun and the music while adults effortlessly learn all the signs they need for day-to-day life with their baby. 

   

   Stage 2 

  Suitable for toddlers from around 14 months to 2.5 years (and beyond if you're joining us online)! – This class covers themes such as colours, phonics, manners, even using the potty! Designed with inquisitive and energetic toddlers in mind. You may wish to complete a term of Stage 1 first if baby is in the middle of the age brackets, but you don't have to have completed earlier stages to join us in Stage 2 - your course booking will include access to the Stage 1 Class@Home lessons. 

  
  

   When and where? 

  The Sing and Sign programme follows a ten-week curriculum and I teach three terms throughout the year roughly following the school terms.

  Spring term begins in January

  Summer term begins mid/late April

  Autumn term begins September

  There are often special sessions during Summer and for seasonal events. Keep your eyes peeled for these!

  
  

   Anything else? 

  We currently limit the number of families per class to around 11 depending on the room. This keeps classes small, friendly and relaxed but it does mean places are limited so book early!

• Nurseries

  Does your child attend a nursery?

  Sing and Sign now has an excellent Nursery Affiliation Programme which will train staff on their own premises at a time to suit all.

  We will teach staff a selection of signs, tailor made to the nursery's individual requirements and design an Individual Action Plan to inspire staff and make signing fun and easy to incorporate.

  Following training, the nursery will receive a Certificate of Sing and Sign Affiliation together with ongoing access to our signing resources and a complimentary package of products.

  If your baby attends nursery or you know of a childcare facility that would be interested in receiving further information, please do pass our details on, or contact us at the number/email above.

  We can also offer the Nursery Affiliation + Programme, which would provide your nursery with Sing and Sign classes tailored to the age group and delivered by the Sing and Sign teachers themselves!
